Meet Kern Halls: Keynote Speaker at the 2023 Healthy Kids, Healthy Programs Summit

JSI is pleased to have Kern Halls, Chief Innovator, Ingenious Culinary Concepts as a keynote speaker at the Healthy Kids, Healthy Programs Summit on May 24th, presenting Transform the Cafeteria Experience from Ordinary to Extraordinary!

Kern has been called “one of the most engaging presenters” in today’s K-12 industry.  He is sought out by school districts, state agencies, associations and manufacturers (nationwide) to shed light on proven practices to increase student meal consumption.

His military culinary background, work experience in Orlando managing $18M in sales at Walt Disney World restaurants and serving as a senior manager in Orange County Public Schools equips him with a unique skill set.  Coupling this experience with his degrees in Business Management and Marketing, results in an individual well equipped to support school foodservice personnel (of all levels).  This is proven by his award-winning track record.  During his tenure in Orange County, the district’s FNS team received multiple recognitions and awards for their school foodservice practices.  Led by Kern, with the help of the FNS team, high school sales grew by an unprecedented 46%.

Kern has developed a reputation of being an “innovator”.  This was proven when he “stepped out on faith” to launch his own STUDENT-CENTERED school foodservice training and consulting company, Ingenious Culinary Concepts (ICC).  ICC focuses on keeping the student (our customer) as the top priority!  Kern’s goal is to help you grow and EXCEED your FNS goals to provide quality meals to students.  Simply put… “he brings your customer to the table!”

Kern Halls is a national expert in school cafeteria enhancements, marketing, and customer service, who knows how to take the ordinary and make it extraordinary! Get ready to explore fresh and ingenious ways to implement the latest high-impact practices to enhance the K-12 dining environment and elevate the customer experience.
