Training Toolbox and Checklist

Attention School Nutrition Directors…are you interested in saving time and energy with new hire training or annual staff training to meet USDA professional standards? JSI has a new tool for you…the Training Toolbox and Checklist!

Think of it like the A-List for staff training. Here is the analogy. By using the A-List, JSI has done the work to evaluate school snacks that meet the nutrition requirements, so you don’t have to.  By using the Training Toolbox, JSI has done the work to link you directly to new hire and annual training options in Massachusetts for your school nutrition cooks/staff, cashiers, and managers.

And there’s more…JSI created a spreadsheet, aka the Training Toolbox Checklist, for directors to easily plan and track staff professional development across the district. Just like the A-List, the Training Toolbox can save you a lot of time and effort!

To learn more, watch this video about how to use the Training Toolbox Checklist.

The Training Toolbox Checklist is designed to:

  • Identify position-specific on-demand and live training options in the state
  • Develop a position-specific or individualized training plan for employees
  • Track completed training hours and ensure annual training requirements are met by each employee
  • Track suggested learning codes for the USDA key areas for PD

This is year one for this new tool and we would love your input! Please let us know if you have questions or wish to share suggestions via email at johnstalker@framingham.edu.
