With the start of a busy new school year, The John C. Stalker Institute (JSI) is pleased to share a new resource. This past summer, the RD’s at JSI entered and analyzed 14 student-approved snack recipes into the JSI Recipe Tool for Massachusetts school nutrition programs. We hope your students will be excited to try these delicious and nutritious dips, parfaits and smoothies. Check them out!

These recipes were analyzed in the JSI Recipe Tool – an easy-to-use tool designed by Registered Dietitians (RD) at The John C. Stalker Institute for school nutrition programs in Massachusetts to analyze snack recipes for compliance with state and federal nutritional standards. The Massachusetts Competitive Food and Beverage Standards require schools to post nutritional information for all snacks served outside the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and this tool was created to help schools meet this requirement. Check out a previous article in the JSI blog for a sneak peek at the tool. If you are interested in using the JSI Recipe Tool, watch these videos to learn more about how the tool can help you.
