The following resources provide health data that can be used as part of your School Wellness Advisory Committee's needs assessment and annual review about the health needs of students in the district.

B. Tools to Assess Policy, Programs, and Curricula

After identifying key student health needs, the SWAC should also evaluate the extent to which the district's current programs, practices, and policies address these needs effectively. What is the district already doing about nutrition, physical activity, and other health-related issues? How effective are these programs and practices in promoting student health and well-being?

School Wellness Committees (SWACs) can evaluate their district's health education and physical education curricula by comparing those curricula with standards outlined in:
